It’s the time of year when theatrical award ceremonies are in the news and in Bridgwater it’s no different.

Bridgwater Operatic Society’s excellence continues to shine through and they are proud to announce that in The Somerset Fellowship of Drama’s David Beach Competition they received five awards for last May’s production of “My Fair Lady”

The Awards were:

Technical Award – Josh Fischer  FOR FANTASTIC DIGITAL SCENERY

Andrew Carpenter

BEST SUPPORTING MALE – Andrew Carpenter AS ALFRED P DOOLITTLE

BEST MALE IN LEAD – Philip Turley AS HENRY HIGGINS

SHOWSTOPPER – DOOLITTLE AND COMPANY – I’M GETTING MARRIED IN THE MORNING

BEST SHOW – Runner up for “MY FAIR LADY”

A society spokesman said,

“We are very proud to have received so many awards for our 2018 productions and we move forward with confidence to our 2019 production of “Sister Act” at The McMillan Theatre in seven weeks time.
