This week saw two nights (7th and 8th March 2019) of the 21st Century Production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s, Jesus Christ Superstar.

The setting was in St Mary’s Church, and what a setting, the lights brought out the beauty within this church.

As the audience, you were sat around where the cast performed, so you were there within the show.

The first half was amazing, but the second half, both Simon Thomas-Boddy, who played Jesus Christ and Ben Filler, who played Judas Iscariot, stole the show, the power in their voices as they belted out each of their songs, gave us goosebumps and Mary Magdalene, played by Jess Godfrey, sang ‘I don’t know how to love him’ and it was angelic, so beautiful.

The choreography was very well done, and to be able to sit and watch from within made it even more enjoyable.

How they ended the show brought a lump to the throats of many of the audience as we watched Jesus take his final breath.

If you got a chance to watch both performances, please send in your reviews as we would like to hear what other people thought about the show.
