YMTC Academy is a young musical theatre company who produce some of the highest quality shows in the county and are nominated for awards yearly.

Last night (25th February 2019) we had the pleasure of meeting some of the cast of Peter Pan at the Arts Centre here in Bridgwater.  They are raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital and will be performing at the McMillan Theatre on 15th and 16th March.

We met with Xaan, 9 and Joe, 12 who are playing John and Michael in the show. We asked them how many performances they had both done, Xaan told us,

“I have done 3 performances.”

Joe said,

“I have done 8 performances in total and this will be my second with the group.”

When asked how they felt about doing the performances, especially when seeing the audience, they both said,

“Nerve wracking but fun and wow, that’s a lot of people.”

We finally asked what their advice would be to young people who would like to get into acting, they both said,

“Go for it, don’t worry if you fail and don’t stress.”

Lastly, Joe told us,

“If you forget your lines, don’t worry, just smile, as the audience don’t know you have forgotten them.”
